history
The origin of the name Acquasparta is traced back to the Roman toponym Aquas partas (German “divided water” or “between the waters”), but there is no evidence for this. During the Roman Empire , the community was known for its hot mineral springs and, thanks to its location on the Via Flaminia, it was an easy-to-reach resort. The thermal springs still exist today.
