Ammelbruch is a part of the municipality of Langfurth in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The Kritzenbach, which is a left tributary of the Sulzach , flows through the parish village , and at the Ammelbrucher Graben, which flows into the Kritzenbach as a right tributary in the village. A little further west is Langfurth, otherwise the place is surrounded by arable land and grassland. In the northeast the corridor is called Aucht, in the south Weizenbuck and in the southwest Hart. A little further to the east are the forest areas Höllenbärtlein, Hüll and Fuchsloch. There are remains of the Limes and a Roman watchtower.

The district road AN 50 leads to Langfurth (1 km west) or to Beyerberg to state road 2248 (3.3 km north-east). Municipal roads lead to Grüb to the AN 51 (2.2 km southeast) and to Untermichelbach to the AN 41 (3.1 km south).

history

The place name Ammelbruch includes the personal name "Amal", "Amelung" or "Amalrich", who probably took possession of the "Bruchland" here as the founder. A noble family Ammelbruch has been attested since 1189. The Oberamt Aufkirchen in Oettingen- Spielberg had been wealthy in the village since 1418.

After 1648, a number of exiles from Austria settled here who, as Protestants, had to give way to the Counter Reformation.

Ammelbruch was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen . The imperial city of Dinkelsbühl claimed the Fraisch on their property. The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ). With the dissolution of the district of Dinkelsbühl in 1972, Ammelbruch came to the district of Ansbach. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Ammelbruch was incorporated into Langfurth on May 1, 1978.
