André Hainault (in English-speaking countries also Andrew Hainault , born June 17, 1986 in Hudson , Québec ) is a Canadian football player . He is used as a defender , mostly on the left. Hainault will be under contract with the German third division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 2018 .
Career
Club career
André Hainault began playing football at the club in his hometown Hudson , the Hudson Hawks in Québec, Canada. In 1998, the left-back moved to the Lac St. Louis Lakers . In 2003 he was signed by Montreal Impact , who were then playing in the A-League (now USL First Division). At Impact, he first signed an amateur contract, which he later extended. With Hainault in the line-up, Montreal Impact became 2004 A-League champions.
In early 2006, Hainault moved to the Czech first division club FK SIAD Most , where he signed a two-year professional contract in May of the same year . In Most , he played regularly in the position of central defender . In early January 2008, Hainault moved to Sparta Prague on loan . In 2009 he completed pre-season training at Houston Dynamo and signed a four-year contract in April. In July 2013 he went to the second division club VfR Aalen . There he was under contract until the end of the 2014/15 season .
For the 2015/16 season he moved to the 3rd division for 1. FC Magdeburg . There he established himself in the first half of the season as a regular player on the left side of the defense. At the beginning of the second half of the season he tore his inner ligament and was out until the end of the season; nevertheless, the club extended its contract term until 2018. In the first half of the 2016/17 season he only made two appearances due to an injury. An operation during the winter break again meant the premature end of the season for him. He made his comeback on the pitch on matchday 20 of the 2017/18 season , and on March 11, 2018 he scored his first goal for FCM in a 6-1 win against VfR Aalen .
For the 2018/19 season, Hainault moved to the second division 1. FC Kaiserslautern , with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2020.
