Future station
In 2019 Offenbach Marktplatz was accepted as one of 16 train stations nationwide in the Deutsche Bahn project “Future Station”. The Offenbach Marktplatz S-Bahn station is to become brighter, friendlier and more lively as part of the project. Deutsche Bahn is investing a total of 800,000 euros in the project. At the beginning of the planning, a project group from the Offenbach am Main University of Design analyzed the potential of the station from the point of view of the users, taking into account their movement patterns. This gave rise to essential impulses for the innovations that are now being tested.
Connection
The station is served exclusively by S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S8 and S9 . It is possible to change to most city bus routes operated by Offenbacher Verkehrs-Betriebe , as well as to bus routes from other operators, including express and night bus routes that connect with the surrounding area.
