The railway line Dalane-Suldal , Norwegian Dalane-Suldallinjen , is a 1.1 kilometer long railway line in Fylke Agder in Norway . It serves as a bypass of the Kristiansand terminus .

Kristiansand has a terminus on Sørlandsbane . The line was built to allow trains to bypass this station without changing locomotives. The single-track line was temporarily opened to traffic between Kristiansand and Audnedal as early as 1943 . At first, from May 15, 1943, there were only holiday trains for the German Wehrmacht , further passenger trains with luggage transport were available from November 1943. The provisional train service to Sira began on December 17, 1943, and normal operations on the route began on March 1, 1944 .

Today the bypass is used for freight traffic .
