Bergensbanen

The Jevnakerbane , also Roa-Hønefosslinjen , runs from Roa to Hønefoss in Norway . Originally it was part of the Bergensbane .

The line was opened in 1909 , when the Oslo - Bergen trains ran from Oslo to Roa on Gjøvikbane . Today, this route is mainly used by freight trains as it is shorter than the connection via Drammen . The line connects two important railway nodes: in Roa it meets the Gjøvikbane Oslo- Gjøvik , in Hønefoss it meets the Bergensbane Bergen-Drammen with a connection to Oslo via the Drammenbane .
