history
Oslo Port Line connected the railway station Oslo V the Skøyen-Filipstadlinje , originally for Drammenbane heard with Oslo Ø . The line opened on November 13, 1907 and was the only connection between the western and eastern rail networks .
The port railway was primarily a freight train route that was only used sporadically to transport passengers. The freight trains were many years with steam locomotives and later diesel locomotives of the type NSB Di 2 transported.
The freight trains on the port route were known in the cityscape, because they blocked all vehicle traffic on the town hall square during their journey over the three level crossings. After the opening of the Oslotunnel , the port railway was no longer needed. It was shut down in 1983, and most of the tracks were removed in the same year. Part of the route was used for a park in front of the fortress walls, in which a memorial for the Jews deported in World War II was erected.

Freight trains in front of Oslo City Hall were included in the plot of two films by the Norwegian Olsen Gang.
