Challenge Cup 2012
The Challenge Cup 2012 (also known as the Carnegie Challenge Cup 2012 for sponsorship reasons) was the 111th edition of the annual rugby league tournament Challenge Cup . In the final, the Warrington Wolves won against the Leeds Rhinos with 35:18 and won the tournament for the 8th time.
Preliminary round
44 teams took part in the preliminary round. Of the English teams, 22 teams were from NCL Division 1 and 2, 5 were regional league winners and the remaining 4 were winners of the Lancashire and Yorkshire County Cups, a team from the Cumberland ARL and the British Police . The remaining teams were the Scottish champions, a Welsh team, 4 teams from the Rugby League Conference National 2011, 6 student teams and one team from the North West League. The draw for the preliminary round and the first round took place on December 19, 2011, the games took place from February 4 to 19.

Second round
In the second round, 14 teams from the National Conference League, the British Army , the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy were added to the winners of the first round .
The draw for the games took place on February 27th on board the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious by Captain Martin Connell and Steve McNamara, coach of the England national team. The games took place on March 10th and 11th.
