Check on It is a song by the American R&B singer Beyoncé and the rapper Slim Thug . In addition to the performers, Cashemes "Swizz Beatz" Dean , Sean Garrett and Angela Beyincé were involved in the creation of the title. The song was produced for the 2006 film The Pink Panther , in which Knowles played the lead role.

Check on It debuted on November 19, 2005 on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 72 and reached number one on February 4, 2006 after twelve weeks. The song became Beyoncé's third number one hit as a solo artist and Slim Thug's first. The song stayed at number one for five weeks, making Beyoncé Knowles the first artist since Jennifer Lopez to be number one in the United States for more than five weeks with her first three songs. Along with Daniel Powter's number one hit Bad Day , Beyoncé's song was the longest number one hit in 2006 in the US. It was rated platinum by the RIAA for over 800,000 downloads. According to Mediabase and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, Check on It has been played on radio over 200 million times in the US in one year. Knowles' other single Irreplaceable was played more often on the radio, making Knowles the second female artist in the US to do so after Mariah Carey did it with her two songs We Belong Together and Shake It Off in 2005. Check on It became Beyonce's fifth top twenty hit in Canada. In addition, the song reached the top five in Norway and the Netherlands, the top ten in Switzerland, Austria and Brazil and the top twenty in Germany and Sweden. In the UK, the song reached number three on the UK charts with over 122,500 units sold.
Music video
Knowles recorded a music video to promote the accompanying film, The Pink Panther . Directed by Hype Williams , the premiere was on December 16, 2005. Check on It won the MTV Video Music Award on August 31, 2006 for the category " Best R&B Video ". The video refers to the film title Pink Panther with a pink background . Knowles also wears a pink jacket and sweatpants in the music video . Beyonce dances throughout the music video and shows her lap dances among other things . The video is included on the DVD accompanying the film.
