Clem F. Kimball
Clement Field "Clem" Kimball (born August 11, 1868 in Anamosa , Jones County , Iowa , † September 10, 1928 in Council Bluffs , Iowa) was an American politician . Between 1925 and 1928 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Iowa.
Career
Clem Kimball attended public schools in his home country. He then graduated from Iowa State College until 1889 , where he studied mechanics. Until 1893 he worked in this field and as a teacher. After a subsequent law degree at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and his 1895 admission to the bar, he began to practice in Council Bluffs in this profession. In addition to his legal activities, he also worked in agriculture. In 1899, he was appointed assistant district attorney in Pottawattamie County for two terms . From 1906 he served as the legal representative of the City of Council Bluffs for several years.
Politically, Kimball became a member of the Republican Party . In 1912 he entered the Iowa Senate , where he was re-elected three times. In 1924 he was elected lieutenant governor alongside John Hammill . He held this office between 1925 and his death on September 10, 1928. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate.
