Dąbie (German Dambee , 1938–45 oak , Kasch. Dąbie ) is a small Kashubian village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the municipality of Czarna Dąbrówka ( Schwarz Damerkow ) in the powiat Bytowski ( Bütow district ).

Geographical location and transport links

Dąbie is located on the right bank of the Lupow (Łupawa) 45 kilometers southeast of the former district town Słupsk ( Stolp ) and 31 kilometers north of the current district metropolis Bytów ( Bütow ) and is from Otnoga ( Wottnogge ) on the voivodship road 211 ( Nowe Dąbrowa ( Neu Damerow ) ↔ Żukowo ( Zuckau )) can be reached via a cul-de-sac. The connection to the Lauenburg – Bütow (Lębork – Bytów) railway via Schwarz Damerkow, which existed until 1945, is no longer available after it has been shut down and partially dismantled.

Place name

The German place name Dambee existed twice in the former Stolp district : here as a district of the municipality of Wottnogge (1938–45 Mühlental , now Polish: Otnoga) and further north as a village of the municipality of Schmolsin (Smołdzino). The Wottnogger Dambee was renamed Eichen on December 29, 1937 , while the Schmolsiner Dambee was renamed Eichweide .

history

The former Dambee or Eichen was closely linked to the history of the mother community of Wottnogge (Otnoga) until 1945 . It belonged to the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania . After 1945 it became Polish and was given the name Dąbie , which is very common in Poland. The connection to the former Wottnogge has remained, since the place now called Otnoga is the seat of the Schulzenamt . He belongs to the Gmina Czarna Dąbrówka in the powiat Bytowski in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Stolp Voivodeship ).

church

In terms of church, Dambee was incorporated into the Protestant parish of Mickrow (now in Polish: Mikorowo) until 1909 , after which it was incorporated into the parish of Groß Rakitt (Rokity). Both parish villages belonged to the church district of Stolp-Altstadt in the eastern district of the church province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union until 1945 .

After 1945 the ecclesiastical connection to Rokity remained, because here a - now of course Catholic - parish was established, which was assigned to the deanery Łupawa ( Lupow ) in the diocese of Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland . On the evangelical side, Dąbie is incorporated into the cross parish in Słupsk with the branch church in Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pomerania ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

school

In terms of school, Dambee was oriented towards Wottnogge (Otnoga) until 1945 .
