The German Boccia, Boule and Pétanque Association e. V. ( DBBPV ) is the German umbrella organization for ball sports .

The umbrella organization is a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), and there also in the interest group of non-Olympic associations (IG NOV). It is recognized by the Federal Ministry of the Interior as being eligible for funding.

Eligibility for funding was achieved through the good performance of the pétanque ball sport at the 2005 World Games in Duisburg . In May 2005, at a general meeting, changes to the statutes and closer cooperation were decided. The activities run mainly in the three member associations.

Since the member associations believe that the name DBBPV is unpronounceable and not effective in advertising, it was decided to use the name under which it became a member of the DSB: "Deutscher Boccia Verband". However, this has not yet been implemented.

Today the association has the sections Pétanque , Boccia and Boule Lyonnaise . Other sections such as Jeu Provençal or Bowls can be added if necessary.
