Dlhé Stráže (until 1948 Slovak "Lengvarty"; German Lengwart or Litzier , Hungarian Lengvárt ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 596 (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to Okres Levoča , a circle of Prešovský kraj .

Main street of the village

The community is located on the southwest slope of the Leutschauer Berge on the Bicír stream in the traditional Spiš landscape . The center of the village is at an altitude of 613  m nm and is six kilometers from Levoča (road distance).

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1278 as Bicere .
