Lúčka (German Wieschen , Hungarian Szepesrét - until 1907 Lucska ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 126 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) and belongs to Okres Levoča , a circle of Prešovský kraj , as well as the traditional landscape Zips .

geography

The community is located in the northern part of the Hornádska kotlina basin at the transition to the northern Leutschau Mountains , in the valley of the Lúčanský brook . The center of the village is at an altitude of 490  m nm and is four kilometers from Spišské Podhradie and 15 kilometers from Levoča .

Neighboring municipalities are Pavľany in the north, Spišské Podhradie in the east and Jablonov in the south and west.

history

Lúčka was first mentioned in writing in 1273 as Lucska , other historical names are Lacska (1480), Retke (1513) and Luczka (1514) In the Middle Ages the village was owned by the Spiš provosty, in the 16th century by the diocese of Oradea and finally from 1776 until 1848 of the diocese of Spiš . In 1787 the village had 28 houses and 190 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 35 houses and 256 inhabitants, who were mainly farmers and, to a lesser extent, woodcutters and weavers. In 1821 the community had its own sealing stick made.

Until 1918 the place in Zips County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. The house of culture was built between 1957 and 1963.

According to the 2011 census, Lúčka had 125 inhabitants, 124 of whom were Slovaks . One resident gave no information about ethnicity.

121 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and four residents were non-denominational.
