history
Klčov was first mentioned in writing in 1258 as villa Kulchuan , the name was probably derived from the Slavic / Slovak word klčovať , in German " clearing ". In the 13th century, today's towns Do heutigenany and Roškovce (now part of Doľany) were drawn. Otherwise, Klčov has been a small to medium-sized agricultural village in the course of history, which in the 14th century belonged to the estate of the Carthusian monastery on the refuge rock in what is now known as the Slovak Paradise , before ownership changed to the Spiš Chapter in the 16th century.
In 1787 there were 36 houses and 238 inhabitants and in 1828 49 houses and 365 inhabitants. In 1900 the place Končany (German Kontschan , Hungarian Koncsán ) came to the municipality, which a few years later had a double name. In 1914 part of the village fell victim to a fire, but was rebuilt after the First World War.
Until 1918 the place in Zips County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
