history

On March 21, 1854, P. Wilhelm Dorp, who was already the owner of the neighboring Scheider Mühle and the Locher Kotten, applied to the city of Wald to build another Kottens between the two aforementioned locations in the Lochbachtal. The concession was granted by Mayor Hammesfahr on October 4, 1854. In the topographical map of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1871, however, the Kotten is not recorded. The place belonged to the mayor's office forest within the Prussian district of Solingen .

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland from 1888, two houses with seven inhabitants are given for Dorpskotten. In 1895 the district also had two houses with seven inhabitants, in 1905 one house and three inhabitants are given.

With the town union of Groß-Solingen in 1929, the Dorpskotten became part of Solingen. The Kotten was abandoned before 1939. In its place, the Lauterjung company was built, which was industrially active there. Before 1990, the Lauterjung company buildings were also demolished. Between July 2003 and July 2003, the Dorpskotten rainwater retention basin was built on the site by the Solingen waste disposal company .
