Sonnenkamp is (at the lower Friedrich-Ebert-Straße country road southwest 85) of Walder village center. The original courtyard buildings were probably located roughly at the point where Spitzwegstrasse and Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse meet. In the north are Altenhof and Wiedenhof . To the east are Mummenscheid , Rosen- and Wiedenkamp with the Protestant cemetery and to the south the Scheuer , Heidufer and Tiefendick . Weyer and Häuschen are in the southwest .

history

Presumably the place originated in the first third of the 19th century. The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 does not yet record the place, the Prussian first survey of 1844 lists it as Hofkamp . In the topographic map of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1871, however, the place is not recorded.

The place belonged to the mayor's office forest within the district of Solingen . In 1832 the place was part of the second village honors within the forest mayor. The place, categorized as Kotten according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had a residential house and an agricultural building at that time. At that time, nine people lived in the village, all of whom were evangelicals.

The place lost its independent position early on and went under in the residential and commercial areas of the city of Wald, which were expanding to the southwest. With the town association of Groß-Solingen in 1929, Sonnenkamp became a district of Solingen. The place name Sonnenkamp has not been traceable at least since the turn of the 20th century and is therefore no longer recorded in today's city maps.
