history

The place was first mentioned by name before 1430 as "Elgelstorff".

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties in Elgersdorf (2 courtyards, 5 estates). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach . The state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg held the village and community rulership . All properties had the St. Klara monastery office as landlord .

As part of the community edict, Elgersdorf was assigned to the Emskirchen tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipality of Emskirchen, founded in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818) Elgersdorf was re-grouped into the newly formed rural community Gunzendorf . On January 1, 1972 Gunzendorf was incorporated into Emskirchen as part of the regional reform .
