Elia Ostwald (born March 17, 1988 in Bad Muskau , GDR ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with EV Landshut in the Oberliga Süd and DEL2 since April 2018 .

Career

Elia Ostwald began his career in his home country with the young foxes Weißwasser , for which he played in the German junior league from 2004 and received first appearances in the professional team of the Lausitzer Füchse in the 2nd Bundesliga from 2005 . For the 2006/07 season the changed center of the Eisbären Berlin in the German Ice Hockey League , but was also the cooperation partner, the polar bears Juniors in the league used.

After he had played a total of 44 DEL games in the 2007/08 season and had also won the German championship and the cup with the capital city team, but saw little chance of enough ice age in the polar bear squad, Ostwald decided in September 2008 to switch to League rivals Hamburg Freezers . There he initially received a contract until November 2008, which was extended to 2011. In his third year with Hamburg, the striker was also used with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau with a sponsorship license . In May 2011, the native Bad Muskauer was signed by the Landshut Cannibals . In the summer of 2015 he moved back to his home country and played again for the Lausitzer Füchsen , where he took over the position of assistant captain in the 2016/2017 season. In July 2017 he was signed again by the Eispiraten Crimmitschau before he switched back to EV Landshut for the 2018/2019 season. With the EVL, he made it to the DEL2 in 2019.

International

In the junior division, Ostwald played with the German U18 team at the 2005 and 2006 World Championships in the top division. Also with the U20 national team , he initially took part in the 2007 World Cup in the top division. After the relegation suffered there, he played in Division I in 2008 , where he was immediately promoted again.

• 2008 Promotion to the top division at the U20 World Cup in Division I, Group A.
• 2012 champions of the 2nd Bundesliga with the Landshut Cannibals
• 2019 Oberliga master and promotion to the DEL2 with EV Landshut
