Eversheds Sutherland emerged in 2017 from the merger of the British commercial law firm Eversheds and the US law firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan.

The German practice of the law firm emerged in 2015 from the merger of the previously cooperatively affiliated law firms Heisse Kursawe Eversheds ( Germany ; founded 1974) and Eversheds ( England ).
