After the successful performance of Gaetano Donizetti's Anna Bolena in Hamburg, he focused on Italian bel canto and directed a bel canto cycle at the Leipzig Opera between 2002 and 2005.
In 2006 Beermann recorded all Mozart piano concertos with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the pianist Matthias Kirschnereit . That year he also recorded the symphonies 1, 2 and 5 by Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek with the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and the Bern Symphony Orchestra . During this time, Beermann was able to further expand the collaboration with the CD labels cpo and Arte Nova, which had existed since 2000 .
General Music Director in Chemnitz (2007-2016)
In 2007 he was appointed General Music Director of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic by General Director Bernhard Helmich . Beermann continued his work after 2013 under Helmich's successor Christoph Dietrich until the end of the 2015/2016 season.
Operas
For the Chemnitz Opera , Beermann brought numerous seldom played or forgotten works, as well as numerous premieres, to the stage, mainly during Bernhard Helmich's directorship. A performance of Prokofiev's opera Die Liebe zu den Drei Orangen (Direction: Dietrich Hilsdorf ), which was awarded the German Theater Prize Der Faust , was already performed in the 2005/2006 season under Beermann's musical direction .
In 2007/2008 this was followed by Giacomo Puccini's opera Manon Lescaut , which was published on DVD by Arthaus Musik , and Otto Nicolai's opera Il templario , the revised version of Die Templer .
The opera Love And Other Demons by Peter Eötvös was first performed in Germany in the 2008/2009 season (director: Dietrich Hilsdorf); also the Hans Pfitzner opera Die Rose vom Liebesgarten (director: Jürgen Weber ).
In the following season (2009/2010), Franz Schreker's opera Der Schmied von Gent (director: Ansgar Weigner) followed.
In 2010/2011 Reznicek's opera Petrol (director: Martin Duncan) premiered and with the opera Die Heimkehr des Verbands (director: Philipp Kochheim ) another rarely performed work by Otto Nicolai came to the Chemnitz stage.
In the following season Richard Strauss ' opera Die Schweigsame Frau (directed by Gerd Heinz ) followed, which was subsequently recorded for publication on CD due to its success.
In 2012/2013, the revised version of Giacomo Meyerbeer's opera Vasco de Gama (director: Jakob Peters-Messer ), which was awarded the ECHO Klassik and attracted attention across Germany , finally followed . It was also Torsten Rasch's opera The Duchess of Malfi (directed by Dietrich Hilsdorf) first performed in Germany.
The performances, which had their premiere in Chemnitz during these six years, were all broadcast by Deutschlandradio Kultur or MDR Figaro and most of them published on CD by cpo .
After Christoph Dittrich took over the management, the opera Le Grand Macabre by György Ligeti (director: Walter Sutcliffe) followed in 2013/2014 - with a set by Georg Baselitz - and in Beermann's last season (2015/2016) Erich Wolfgang Korngold's opera Die tote City .
Concerts and recordings
In Chemnitz he played - again in collaboration with Matthias Kirschnereit - all of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's piano concertos , including the world premiere recording of the reconstructed E minor concerto. In 2009 Beermann received the ECHO Klassik music award for this CD recording. Beermann also recorded numerous works by Robert Schumann with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic , including all of the symphonies, including the rarely played Zwickau Symphony , and, in collaboration with Ulf Wallin, all works for violin and orchestra. A CD is dedicated to the work of Hermann Hans Wetzler . He also recorded the missing symphonies 3 and 4 by Reznicek.

In 2011/2012, Beermann performed all nine symphonies by Ludwig van Beethoven under the title Encounters with Beethoven within two weeks at different locations in Chemnitz in order to attract new concert-goers. With this program, the Robert Schumann Philharmonic then performed under his direction at the Klassiksommer in Hamm . In 2014/2015 the project was continued with Franz Schubert's symphonies .
Work as a freelance conductor from 2016
