Froschmühle (colloquially: Frūschmíl ) is a district of Neuendettelsau in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Froschmühlbach (Froschwasser), a right tributary of the Heiligenbächls, which flows into the Aurach a little below its tributary . A residential road leads to district road AN 14 (0.3 km southeast), which runs to Neuendettelsau (center 1.4 km south) or to state road 2410 (0.15 km northeast).

history

The mill was built in 1528 by Sebastian von Eyb zu Dettelsau on a meadow that used to belong to the Geichsenhof . Originally it was simply called the “New Mill”. The name “Froschmühle” has been attested since 1685. According to the owners, it is said to have been called "Hundemühle" (dog mill) at times because they were supposed to be used by stately dogs.

In the Oberamtsbeschreibung of the Principality of Ansbach by Johann Georg Vetter from 1732, the place is described as follows: “FroschMühl, Eine Adelich Crailsheiml. Mühl, belonging to Rügland, is pastured to Neuendettelsau and exempted from toe because no Feldgüther belong to it. The Vogtey inner Etter belongs to the Lord von Crailsheim, but apart from Etter it belongs to the local Oberamt Windspach as well as the high authority of the High Frais . “From 1793 to 1823 Johann Lingmann, the owner of the mill, bought almost 20 days of Feld.

Originally the frog mill belonged to Neuendettelsau, but under the Prussian administration it was added to Aich in 1796 and was given house no. 1 of the town of Aich. At that time she had the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim as landlord . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

As part of the community edict, the frog mill was assigned to the Aich tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Aich, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), the frog mill was re-grouped into the newly formed rural community Altendettelsau . On January 1, 1972, the frog mill was reclassified to Neuendettelsau as part of the regional reform .

The mill has now been shut down. The use of hydropower was replaced by a maintenance-free, approximately five-kilowatt solar-electric system.

Remarks

  • The distance information corresponds to the beeline between the respective geographic objects. They do not give the route .
  • A detailed list of the responsible judicial and administrative authorities can be found in the article of the (former) municipality responsible for the district.
  • The guidelines of the statistical surveys were changed several times during the period shown, which is why the information on population development - number of inhabitants and number of houses - does not count the same depending on the point in time. For more information, see the official regional directories for Bavaria .
