Gabiano (wine)

Gabiano is a red wine from the Gabiano area in Piedmont. The wine has had the status of a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since July 15, 1983 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

The cultivation and vinification of wines is permitted in the municipalities of Gabiano and Moncestino in the province of Alexandria .

The wine is made from the grape varieties Barbera (90–95%) as well as Freisa and Grignolino (individually or together) to a maximum of 5–10%.
