Dolcetto d'Acqui
Dolcetto d'Acqui is an Italian red wine and a wine-growing region with a protected designation of origin from the province of Alessandria in the Piedmont region . The wine has had a "controlled designation of origin" ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1972 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation
A total of 23 municipalities belong to the approved area.
The wines may be grown and vinified in the following municipalities : Acqui Terme , Alice Bel Colle , Bistagno , Cartosio , Cassine , Castelletto d'Erro , Castelnuovo Bormida , Cavatore , Denice , Grognardo , Melazzo , Monferrato , Montechiaro d'Acqui , Morbello , Orsara Bormida , Ponti , Ponzone , Ricaldone , Rivalta Bormida , Sezzadio , Spigno Monferrato , Strevi , Terzo and Visone .
In 2016, 11,065 hl of the DOC wine were produced.

The Dolcetto d'Acqui is made from 100% Dolcetto grapes . The buyer can store the wine bottles for at least two to four years.

- Color: intense ruby red with a tendency to brick red with increasing maturity
- Odor: vinous, light, characteristic
- Taste: dry, soft, pleasantly almond-like or tart
- Alcohol content: 11.5 % by volume (from an alcohol content of 12.5% by volume, the wine may bear the quality designation Superiore .)
- Acidity : 5.0 g / l
- Dry extract : 21.0 g / l
