Rubino di Cantavenna DOC is an Italian red wine from the province of Alessandria , Piedmont . The wine has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1970 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

The Rubino di Cantevenna is one of the better red wines of Monferrato Casalese and was created by the oenologist Giovanni Dalmasso.

Cultivation

The growing area of ​​the grapes approved for the production of the controlled designation of origin "Rubino di Cantavenna" includes the entire territory of the municipalities of Gabiano , also part of Cantavenna, Moncestino and Villamiroglio and the areas of the former municipality of Castel San Pietro Monferrato, now incorporated into the territory of the municipality of Camino .
