Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco is the name of an Italian wine-growing region near the municipality of Castelnuovo Don Bosco , Asti Province , Piedmont . The wine-growing area has had the status of a Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC for short) since September 20, 1973 . This appellation was last updated on February 20, 2015.
Growing area
The cultivation area is restricted to the municipalities of Albugnano , Castelnuovo don Bosco , Passerano Marmorito , Pino d'Asti , Berzano di San Pietro and Moncucco Torinese in the province of Asti , Piedmont region .

- "Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco" ( red and rosé wine )
- "Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco Spumante " ( sparkling wine )
The following grape varieties are required for production :
- Malvasia di Schierano and / or Malvasia Nera Lunga : at least 85-100%
- Freisa: a maximum of 0–15%.
