Nebbiolo d'Alba

Nebbiolo d'Alba is a wine from the northern Italian region of Piedmont . He is segregated from the grape Nebbiolo as red wine , sparkling wine or Spumante- rosé expanded. Since May 25, 1970 it has a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC), which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

The cultivation area includes 32 communities around the Italian city ​​of Alba in the province of Cuneo . Although the conditions (cultivation area and grape variety) are very similar to those of Barolo or Barbaresco - seven of the 32 municipalities partly belong to the DOCG Barolo - wines that are less intense and ready to drink earlier are produced.

In 2017, 31,872 hectoliters of "Nebbiolo d'Alba" were produced.

Nebbiolo is the only permitted grape variety for all wines .
