Cortese dell'Alto Monferrato
Cortese dell'Alto Monferrato is an Italian wine-growing region in the province of Alessandria , Piedmont . Since June 26, 1992, the cultivation area has the status of a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC), which was last updated on March 7, 2014. The Alto Monferrato area is located near the Ligurian Apennines .

- In the province of Alessandria , vineyards in the following municipalities are authorized for the production of Cortese dell'Alto Monferrato: Acqui Terme , Alice Bel Colle , Basaluzzo , Belforte Monferrato , Bistagno , Carpeneto , Carrosio , Casaleggio Boiro , Cassine , Cassinelle , Castelletto d'Erro , Castelletto d'Orba , Castelnuovo Bormida , Cavatore , Cremolino , Denice , Gamalero , Grognardo , Lerma , Malvicino , Predosa , Melazzo , Merana , Molare , Montaldeo , Montaldo Bormida , Montechiaro d'Acqui , Morbello , Mornese , Morsasco , Orsara Bormida , Ovada , Pareto , Ponti , Ponzone , Prasco , Ricaldone , Rivalta Bormida , Rocca Grimalda , Silvano d'Orba , Spigno Monferrato , Strevi , Tagliolo Monferrato , Terzo , Trisobbio and Visone as well as in parts of the municipalities of Capriata d'Orba , Francavilla Bisio , Novi Ligure , Pasturana and Sezzadio .
In 2016, 14,945 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced on a total of 214 hectares of vineyards.
