Gersdorf (originally Goriansdorf ) is a village in the municipality of St. Veit an der Glan in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia . The village has 26 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies on the territory of the Tanzenberg cadastral community .

The village is located in the south of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, on the southeast slope of Tanzenberg, northwest of Zollfeld , a few hundred meters southeast of Tanzenberg Castle .

history

Lying in the control community dance mountain, the place belonged in the first half of the 19th century to the tax district Tanzenberg . When the local congregations were formed in the course of the reforms after the 1848/49 revolution, Gersdorf came to the Hörzendorf community (which was initially known as the Karlsberg community ), and in 1972 to the Sankt Veit an der Glan community.

Personalities

The Gersdorfer landowner Josef Holzer (vulgo Lampl) was elected to the Carinthian state parliament in 1878 as a representative for the rural communities of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district.
