history
The Golden Line Media Prize was the idea of the South Palatinate journalist and publisher Dieter Hörner, who died in 2014 : “Friends of the Palatinate Press” should be awarded. The idea behind this was to promote open, critical exchange between journalists and representatives from various areas of democratic society. The Bornheimer Dieter Horns made sure the ceremony in the county Southern Wine Route was their home. For decades the cellar of the Südliche Weinstrasse in Edesheim was the venue, since 2012 it has been the Villa Ludwigshöhe in Edenkoben. The winners include politicians , athletes , actors , church dignitaries, artists and scientists. The selection is made every year by the Golden Line Commission , a committee of the Palatinate Association of Journalists. The suggestions come from the membership of the DJV district association of the Palatinate.
