NGC 5672 is a 13.4 mag bright spiral galaxy with pronounced HII regions of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Bear Keeper in the northern sky . It is an estimated 161 million light years away from the Milky Way .

The object was discovered on March 13, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, vS, iF". The observation of Truman Safford on May 4, 1866 led to an entry in the index catalog under IC 1030 .
