The Japan U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of Japanese soccer players . It is subject to the Japan Football Association and represents them internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-16 Asian Cup and U-17 World Cup .

The team became Asian champions in 1994 and 2006 and vice-Asian champions in 2012 .

Her best result at the world championships was reaching the quarter-finals, which were achieved in 1993 , in their own country, and in 2011 in Mexico . In 1993 she lost the quarter-finals to eventual world champions Nigeria , and in 2011 she lost to Brazil . In 2013 the team lost to Sweden in the round of 16 .
