Evgeny Tishchenko ( Russian Евгений Андреевич Тищенко even Evgeny Tishchenko transcribed; * 15. July 1991 in Belgorod ) is a Russian professional boxer in the heavyweight division . As an amateur, he was European champion in 2015 and 2017, world champion in 2015 and Olympic champion in 2016.

National successes

Tishchenko is around 1.96 m tall and was the Russian youth light heavyweight champion in 2009, as well as the Russian U22 champion and the Russian heavyweight champion in 2012. In 2010 and 2011 he won bronze in the light heavyweight division after he was eliminated in the semifinals against Yegor Mechonzew and Nikita Ivanov . In 2014 he was again Russian heavyweight champion, defeating European champion Alexei Yegorov in the final .

International success

In 2009 he won the European Light Heavyweight Championships in Szczecin , Poland , after beating Declan Fusco from England (TKO), Serdar Hacıoğlu from Hungary (5-0), Iaco Kisiria from Greece (2-0) and Cezary Samełko from Poland ( 3-0) prevailed. In 2012 the heavyweight gold medal followed at the U22 European Championships in Kaliningrad . He had defeated Leonid Scharnabaev from Belarus (16: 5), Djibril Coupe from France (23: 9) and Heworh Manukjan from Ukraine (22: 7).

In July 2013 he also won the Summer Universiade in the heavyweight division in Kazan . At the World Championships in Almaty in October of the same year , he was able to beat Warren Baister from England (3: 0), Sjarhej Karnejeu from Belarus (3: 0), Juan Nogueira from Brazil (3: 0), Rustam Toʻlaganov from Uzbekistan (3: 0) and Yamil Peralta from Argentina (2: 1) fight for the final, where he lost to Clemente Russo from Italy (0: 3).

At the European Championships 2015 in Samokow , Tischtschenko won after victories a. a. over Sjarhej Karnejeu , Belarus (3: 0), Terwel Pulew , Bulgaria (3: 0), and in the final over Igor Jakubowski , Poland ( WO ), the gold medal.

He also won gold at the 2015 World Championships in Doha . He beat Joshua Temple from the USA, Roy Korving from the Netherlands, Heworh Manukjan from Ukraine and Erislandy Savón from Cuba. With this success he qualified directly for the 2016 Olympic Games , where he also won the gold medal. He had defeated Juan Nogueira (3: 0), Clemente Russo (3: 0), Rustam Toʻlaganov (3: 0) and Vasily Levit (3: 0).

At the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv , he won his second European heavyweight gold medal by beating Narek Manasyan, Ádám Hámori, Paul Omba-Biongolo and Cheavan Clarke . He was thus qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he reached the final against Deivis Julio, David Nyika and Sanjar Tursunov and lost there by split decision against Erislandy Savón .

In the World Series of Boxing (WSB) Tableschenko has won eight out of ten fights so far.

Professional career

On August 19, 2018, he won his professional debut prematurely in Yekaterinburg against Williams Ocando.
