Evgeny Tishchenko ( Russian Евгений Андреевич Тищенко even Evgeny Tishchenko transcribed; * 15. July 1991 in Belgorod ) is a Russian professional boxer in the heavyweight division . As an amateur, he was European champion in 2015 and 2017, world champion in 2015 and Olympic champion in 2016.

National successes

Tishchenko is around 1.96 m tall and was the Russian youth light heavyweight champion in 2009, as well as the Russian U22 champion and the Russian heavyweight champion in 2012. In 2010 and 2011 he won bronze in the light heavyweight division after he was eliminated in the semifinals against Yegor Mechonzew and Nikita Ivanov . In 2014 he was again Russian heavyweight champion, defeating European champion Alexei Yegorov in the final .

International success

In 2009 he won the European Light Heavyweight Championships in Szczecin , Poland , after beating Declan Fusco from England (TKO), Serdar Hacıoğlu from Hungary (5-0), Iaco Kisiria from Greece (2-0) and Cezary Samełko from Poland ( 3-0) prevailed. In 2012 the heavyweight gold medal followed at the U22 European Championships in Kaliningrad . He was thus qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he reached the final against Deivis Julio, David Nyika and Sanjar Tursunov and lost there by split decision against Erislandy Savón .

On August 19, 2018, he won his professional debut prematurely in Yekaterinburg against Williams Ocando.
