Joël Vermin (born February 5, 1992 in Frauenkappelen ) is a Dutch - Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with Lausanne HC in the National League since June 2017 .

Career

Vermin was born the son of a Dutch and a Hungarian woman and comes from the offspring of SC Bern . After collecting 99 points in 60 games in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 elite novices in the club's U17 team , he made his first appearances in the Elite A Juniors at the age of 15 in the U20 team of SC Bern. The club's Fanion team first came to the club in the 2009/10 season as a 17-year-old. From the 2010/11 season he was a regular at SCB.

In the 2013 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the seventh round in a total of 186th position by the Tampa Bay Lightning . After 2013/14 on loan spent the season at SC Bern, joined Vermin end of March 2014. AHL - farm team of the Bolts , the Syracuse Crunch . He made his debut for Tampa in the NHL in the 2015/16 season.

After three years in North America, in which he had four assists in 24 NHL games and 99 scorer points in 185 AHL games, he returned to Switzerland in the summer of 2017 and signed a five-year contract with Lausanne HC .

International

Vermin represented Switzerland at the U18 Junior World Championships 2010 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2011 and 2012 . He was also involved in the U19 national team at the 2010 World Junior A Challenge . His first major international tournament for the senior national team was the 2018 World Cup , where he won the silver medal.
