The 3rd Chevaulegers Regiment "Herzog Karl Theodor" was a cavalry association of the Bavarian Army . The regiment's peacetime base was Dieuze .

The regiment was formed on January 23 and 31, 1724. Since 1895, Duke Carl Theodor was the eponymous regimental owner in Bavaria . The name was retained even after his death in 1909.
