Kümmersreuth is a district of the Upper Franconian town of Bad Staffelstein in the Lichtenfels district .
geography
The street village of Kümmersreuth is about ten kilometers south-east of Bad Staffelstein on the heights of the Franconian Jura . The state road 2204 from Bad Staffelstein to Wattendorf leads through Kümmersreuth. The Burgstall Schlossberg , a disused medieval castle complex, is located near the village .
history
Barrows were found near the site in 1971. Traces of a castle complex indicate a medieval settlement.
The first recorded mention was in 1230, when the bishop of Bamberg Ekbert the Langheim monastery owned relayed "in Kunemundesrut", had waived the Count of Beichlingen and his vassal Heinrich von Sonnenberg.
After the Langheimer Urbar monastery from 1731, Kümmersreuth belonged to the monastery with all its affiliations and affiliations. In 1801 the Bamberg office of Scheßlitz was responsible. Around 1833 the place had 20 houses and 124 inhabitants. Kümmersreuth belonged together with the towns of End and Kaider to the rural community of Schwabthal when it was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Staffelstein in 1862 .
In 1871 the village of Kümmersreuth had 148 inhabitants and 64 buildings. The Catholic school and church were in Wattendorf, 2.5 kilometers away, which belonged to the Bamberg district office . In 1900, the rural community Schwabthal covered an area of 1141.90 hectares, 365 residents, all of whom were Catholic, and 73 residential buildings. 155 people lived in Kümmersreuth in 28 residential buildings. In 1907 a school house was built. In 1925 165 people lived in 29 residential buildings in the place, in 1950 there were 194 residents and 29 residential buildings, the responsible Protestant parish was in Staffelstein. In 1970 the village had 160 inhabitants.
On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved and Kümmersreuth was incorporated into the Lichtenfels district. On January 1, 1978 the incorporation to Staffelstein followed. In 1987, Kümmersreuth was Kirchdorf with 139 inhabitants and 37 residential buildings with 47 apartments.
Attractions
The Catholic branch church Maria Rosenkranzkönigin belongs to the parish Wattendorf and was built from 1946 to 1948 according to plans by the Bamberg architect Wilhelm Zimmer in place of a chapel from 1854. The rectangular hall building has a paneled flat ceiling and an integrated, drawn-in choir . The facade consists of a brick wall. The hipped gable roof to the east is slated like the roof turret with its onion dome to the west . The altar leaves and stations of the cross are by the artist Paul Plontke .
