La Colle-sur-Loup ( Occitan : Sa Cola de Lop ) is a commune with 7838 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Alpes-Maritimes in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It is located in the Arrondissement of Grasse in the hinterland of the French Riviera northwest of Cagnes-sur-Mer and belongs to the canton of Villeneuve-Loubet . The inhabitants are called Collois . The municipality belongs to the Sophia Antipolis municipal association .
geography
The Loup River forms the eastern boundary of La Colle-sur-Loup. It is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vence in the north, Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the east, Cagnes-sur-Mer in the south-east, Villeneuve-Loubet in the south, Roquefort-les-Pins in the west and south-west and Tourrettes-sur-Loup in the Northwest.

In 1792 La Colle-sur-Loup was separated from the territory of the commune of Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
