The German season with the cast of Manfred Kersch , Gerd Hornberger , Karl Neckermann and Jakob Scheuring became European champions . Sweden won the silver medal with Gösta Klemming, Åke Stenqvist , Lennart Lindgren and Lennart Strandberg . Bronze went to Great Britain (Maurice Scarr, Godfrey Brown , Arthur Sweeney , Ernest Page ).
