List of jet-powered combat aircraft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following list gives an overview of the most important combat aircraft with jet propulsion . The list is arranged according to generations (of development), purposes of use and finally countries of origin. Since the countries did not all reach the different technology levels at the same time, the periods in brackets are only a rough classification of the generations in time. They indicate the periods in which the majority of the aircraft types of the respective generation were produced.

Entries in italics stand for types that are still in the development stage or that never got past the development stage. From the latter group, however, only those types are listed which were intended for series production from the start, but did not finally pass the test stage or were incorporated into the development of later samples.
