Ludvig Holstein-Ledreborg
Johan Ludvig (Louis) Carl Christian Tido Lehnsgraf Holstein zu Ledreborg (born June 10, 1839 in Hochberg , today Remseck am Neckar , Württemberg ; † March 1, 1912 at Ledreborg Castle ) was a Danish landowner and politician. He was Konseilpräsident (Prime Minister) of Denmark from August 16, 1909 to October 28, 1909.
Life
Holstein-Ledreborg was elected to the Folketing in 1872 and stood out as an opponent of the national liberal governments without joining any particular party. He later headed a moderate faction of the Venstre and was one of the leaders of the United Venstre of the Reichstag.
During a stay in Rome he converted to Catholicism in his youth. So far he has remained the only Catholic head of government in Denmark.
