Mike Stulce

Mike Stulce (actually: Michael Stulce ; born July 21, 1969 in Killeen , Texas ) is a former American shot putter and Olympic champion .

After he had become Vice Junior World Champion in 1988 and second in the Universiade in 1989 , he hit 21.49 m in the indoor season in 1990. In the 1990 outdoor season, he even hit the ball to 21.82 m; however, this benefit was canceled due to a positive doping test .

After the end of the two-year ban for this doping offense , he qualified for the Olympic Games . He won in Barcelona with 21.70 m and over 70 cm ahead of his compatriot Jim Doehring .

In the indoor season, Stulce improved to 21.77 m. At the indoor world championships in 1993 Stulce won with 21.27 m, and again Jim Doehring was second. At the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart , Mike Stulce took third place with 20.94. However, the doping test was again positive. Stulce was disqualified and banned for life as a repeat offender.

Mike Stulce is 1.91 m tall and weighed 123 kg at competition times.
