Life

At the Olympic Games in Athens he failed in qualifying. In 2005 he finished seventh at the World Championships in Helsinki and won gold at the Universiade in Izmir.

The first major highlight of his career followed at the Olympic Games in Beijing : with a personal record of 21.51 m, he won the gold medal with a lead of almost half a meter over Christian Cantwell (USA). Then he also won the World Athletics Final in Stuttgart with 20.88 m.

In 2009 Majewski became European champion at the European Indoor Championships in Turin . In the summer he increased his best distance to 21.95 m. At the World Indoor Championships in Doha in 2010, he increased the Polish indoor record to 21.20 m, which was only enough for fourth place. At the European Championships in Barcelona , Andrej Michnewitsch finished second, just one centimeter behind Belarusian . In 2013 Michnewitsch was disqualified for violating the doping rules, and Majewski subsequently received gold. At the end of the season he finished second in the first Athletics Continental Cup in Split . The following year he was eighth at the World Championships in Daegu .
