Waltscho Stoew

Waltscho Stoew ( Bulgarian Вълчо Стоев , English transcription Valcho Stoev ; born January 20, 1952 in Ovtscharowo , Chaskovo Oblast ) is a former Bulgarian shot putter .

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1973 in Rotterdam, he was sixth. The following year he was fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and ninth at the European Athletics Championships in Rome .

In 1975 he won gold at the European Indoor Championships in Katowice and bronze at the Universiade , and in 1977 gold at the Universiade. He finished tenth at the 1978 European Championship in Prague. At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, he was eliminated from qualification without a valid attempt.

Overall, he was five times Bulgarian outdoor champion (1972–1974, 1979, 1980) and four times indoors. In 1974 he became the Soviet indoor champion.
