Mikuláš Konopka

Mikuláš Konopka (born January 23, 1979 in Rimavská Sobota ) is a former Slovak shot putter .

The 1998 Junior World Champion was eliminated from the qualification at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton.

At the European Indoor Athletics Championships in 2002 in Vienna, he originally took third place, but was subsequently disqualified for doping with Stanozolol and banned for two years.

In 2004 he was tenth at the Olympic Games in Athens , in 2005 sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid and eleventh at the World Championships in Helsinki .

A qualifying round at the European Athletics Championships 2006 in Gothenburg was followed by the gold medal at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2007 and a qualification at the World Championships in Osaka .

During a doping control on May 13, 2008, he tested positive for metandienone and was then banned for life.
