NGC 6317 is a 15.1 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type S0 in the constellation Draco the northern sky . It is estimated to be 366 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 125,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 6319 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 2, 1883 .
