NGC 6314 is a 12.9 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Hercules at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 303 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with NGC 6315 .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 6308 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on June 6, 1863 .
