Setup date 1999

The Eudenbach gliding area nature reserve has a size of approx.47.8 hectares and comprises hall 6 in the town of Königswinter in the Oberhau district and hall 23 in the town of Bad Honnef in the Aegidienberg district .

The site lies on a ridge of the Niederwesterwälder Hochmulde , sloping slightly to the south , about 300  m above sea level. NHN , and is part of the area called Mußer Heide (also Musser Heide ) for centuries in the area of the municipal or state border around the high point 304  m above sea level. The sheep graze here in summer and a special fauna and flora has developed here over the decades. Immediately to the east, on the Rhineland-Palatinate side, is the Buchholzer Moor nature reserve with Lökestein and Sauerwieser Heide , which was placed under protection in 1982 in an area on the Lökestein of approx. 3.8 hectares and an extension in 2007 with a total of 67 hectares. To the north is the Komper Heide nature reserve .
