The Stockemer See is a 23 ha large quarry pond near Niederkassel - Stockem in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district . Gravel and sand were excavated here until 1999. The lake is at an altitude of 44 m above sea level. NHN . It has a depth of up to 15 meters, the average depth is three meters.
The area around the Stockemer See has been designated as a nature reserve SU-021 since 1992. Fishing is permitted here through the local fishing club. This created biodiversity through planting and fish stocking. The game fish used in the lake are trout , pikeperch , eel , carp and tench . For this purpose, rare small fish such as loaches , moderlieschen , bitterlings and pond mussels were used. Perch , roach and other whitefish have also unwantedly appeared . The nature reserve has an area of 55.23 hectares and includes three adjacent ponds.
