The FFH area Agger is an area of 198 hectares in the course of the Agger in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district and in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia. It belongs to the Natura 2000 network of protected areas and has the identifier DE-5109-302. The area basically comprises a 10 to 15 meter wide strip in the course of the Agger from Vilkerath to almost the mouth. Extensions across the meadow landscape exist at the confluence of the Sülz and south of Lohmar to the Siegtal section . A part of the FFH area is designated as a nature reserve under the name "Naturschutzgebiet Agger" (GL-073) in the Overath area. At Aggerhütte it borders on the "Aggeraue nature reserve" (SU-118), further south extends the "Aggeraue nature reserve between Lohmar and Siegburg" (SU-092).

The course of the river, partly straightened, meanders relatively naturally through grassland and arable land. The wide floodplain on the lower reaches of the river has numerous small structures close to nature such as flood troughs, a pond with reed banks , remains of former river bends and alluvial forests.

The nature reserve “Aggeraue” connects the nature reserves Agger, Sieg , Wahner Heide and Naafbachtal .
