The Trinsberg nature reserve with a size of 13.6 hectares is located north of Inderlenne in the urban area of Schmallenberg . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Schmallenberg Southeast landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG consists of red beech forests , ravine forests and Schatthang forests . In the ravine forests and Schatthang forests there are rock ridges and boulder corridors with lichen and moss. Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the forests with their species inventory.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
